Leaves serve to manufacture the sugar that trees need for growth and development. Removing foliage can restrict a tree’s sugar energy reserves. And if the pruning is too heavy it can place significant stress and threaten a tree’s health.It’s simply a fact that in urban and suburban environments, trees need to be modified on occasion for people and trees to coexist.
